Kasargod: Thieves break into tax official's house, loot 60 sovereigns of gold

Kasargod, Sep 7: A theft was reported at the residence of sales tax official M V Radhakrishnan here on Friday September 6. The house is located at Mattalayi.
The thieves broke open the door of the house and took away 60 sovereigns of gold and Rs 30,000 in cash. The theft came to light on Friday evening.
Radhakrishnan and his wife Rajalaxmi, who is Hosadurga deputy tahsildar, had gone to work on Friday morning. Their son, Kasargod darga secondary school student Rajesh discovered the theft when he came back from school.
When Rajesh could not open the front door and the neighbors came to help him, it was observed that the door of the first floor was broken open. The thieves entered by breaking the door lock on the first floor. The jewellery and cash in the cupboard were stolen.
A pickaxe kept in a nearby car shed is said to have been used to break open the door.
District police chief Thomson and his team has arrived at the spot. Hosadurga Dy SP P Thamban, dog squad and fingerprint experts investigated the spot.
