Mangalore, Sep 3: Annalisa D'Silva from Bondel and Jaison Sequeira from Gurpur-Kaikamba have won the first places in their respective categories in the Konkani poetry reciting competition organised by Konkani Natak Sabha in association with Kavita Trust here at the Don Bosco Hall on Sunday September 1.
The competitions were held in two categories - below 18 years and above 18 years. In the below 18 years category 15 competitors and in the above 18 years category 17 participants took part respectively.

III. Shaina D’Silva, Bondel

This competition was held together with the Mangalore selection round for the All India Konkani poetry reciting competition finals to be held on January 12, 2014 under the auspices of Kavita Trust.
The following were selected for the finals from Mangalore:
M Shweta Kamath, Jaison Sequeira, Jokshith D'Souza, Amora Monteiro, Eden Sequeira, Amlin D'Souza, Joslyn Saldanha, K Chitra Shenoy, Preema Pinto
William Pais, Walter Dantis and Averyl Rodrigues were the judges for the competition.
Fr Cyprian Peter D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Dolpy Saldanha compered the programme, convenor Gladys Rego proposed vote of thanks and Kavita Trust president Melvyn Rodrigues announced the results.
