Hyderabad, Sep 2 (IANS): Think Global School (TGS), said to be the only of its kind world travel school, has chosen Indus International School here for a multicultural learning environment focused on local Indian culture, history and language.
The US-based TGS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that spends each semester in a different country with locations ranging from Boston, Amazon, Bhutan and Beijing.
A group of 45 students, aged between 14 and 17 years and of 9th to 12th grades, has arrived at Indus campus here and will stay till December for their 10th semester, said a statement. The students are accompanied by 21 faculty members.
Both the Indus and TGS International Baccalaureate (IB) programs offer a core curriculum and customized experimental programs that engage youth in personal development through cultural, environmental, community service, outdoor adventure and team-building activities.
"The vision for Think Global School is to take the wonders of the world and make them our classroom. We offer our children an alternative to a customary deskbound education and the chance to experience the varied cultures, beliefs, languages and histories of twelve remarkable countries in all their splendor and complexities," said TGS head Allun Cooper.
TGS students have studied biology in the Amazon rainforest, Mandarin in China, history standing on the Great Wall of China, and science classes under the ocean surface off the Galapagos Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.
