Mysore, Aug 29: Sexual assaults are rapidly becoming daily phenomenon these days causing national shame. Despite constant awareness, police action, authorities are yet to bring such dastardly incidents under control. Frustrated individuals have not even spared minors, children or even elderly. Lack of fear of law and consequences could be termed as one of the reasons for this. Or else what could be said about this incident that has left everyone in deep shock?
An eight-year-old school-going boy was sexually assaulted by two teenagers, one of them was known to the survivor, near Madapura water canal near here. The boy, son of Sharif (name changed), a resident of Beedy Colony near here was studying in fourth standard in a city-based school. As he was returning from the school two boys allegedly took the child on their two-wheeler to a secluded place near Madapura water canal and sexually abused him on Monday August 26 evening They fled after seeing a man, who helped the boy reach his home.
The class IV student has been admitted to a city hospital. He is out of danger, said police.
The man who brought the boy to the hospital found the boy unconscious and bleeding near the canal when he was passing by. The accused fled on their two-wheeler on seeing him. As news of the incident spread, citizens formed a group and traced one of the teenagers to Bangalore. They brought him to Mysore and handed him Udaygiri police. The arrested has been identified as Rizwan. His accomplice Sayil is still at large.
Rizwan was a neighbour of the survivor and his family members knew him.
The accused teenager has been booked under IPC's Section 377 (unnatural offences) and under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault).
