Paris, Aug 28 (IANS): Unemployment in France inched up 0.2 percent in July from June and recorded a year-on-year growth of 10 percent, the labor ministry said.
Last month, 6,300 additional jobseekers entered the domestic job market, taking the number of jobless to 3.28 million in the mainland, Xinhua reported.
"Reversing the curve of youth unemployment today become a reality. It must be sustainable, and for that we have to redouble our efforts," Labor Minister Michel Sapin said Tuesday.
In the face of growing army of unemployed people and wane growth, the government is working to stimulate job creation through state subsidies.
With the "jobs of the future" plan, the government aims to recruit 150,000 young people, mainly poorly qualified workers from disadvantaged suburbs and rural areas, in the public sector.
