New Delhi, Aug 26 (IANS): It was a cloudy, pleasant Monday morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature settling at 26.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above average for this time of the season. The met office has forecast light rain later in the day.
"The sky will remain partly cloudy. Thundery development and light rain is expected in some parts of the city later in the day," said an official from India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to IMD, from Sunday morning 8.30 a.m. till 8.30 a.m. Monday, the city had recorded 13.4 mm rainfall.
"The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius," the official said.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 81 percent.
Since the arrival of the monsoon, the city has recorded 762.6 mm of rainfall.
Sunday's minimum temperature was 26.1 degrees Celsius, average for this time of year, and the maximum temperature settled a notch above average at 35 degrees Celsius.
