Mysore, Aug 26: To hear the price of a dog is Rs 24 lac is definitely mind boggling but this is a true fact . The same was experienced during the All India Championship Dog Show, organized by the Mysore Kennel Club at the Dasara exhibition grounds on Sunday August 25.
Around 40 different breeds of dogs comprising of 400 exhibits participated in the dog show.

Among the various breeds of dogs at the show, a Great Dane dog belonging to Sanjay Kapoor from Delhi attracted huge crowds.
The dog has bagged championships three times in a row and the price of the dog is valued at Rs 24 lac which makes him the country’s most expensive dog.
The price of Great Dane dogs usually ranges from Rs 1.5 lac to 2 lac.
The event was organised by the Mysore Kennel Club which is registered in Bangalore.
The show was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem in the presence of Dr. B.C. Ramakrishna, Patron of the Club, Dr. P.V. Yathinder, President, Dr. D.T. Jayaramaiah, Hon. Secretary, B.P. Manjunath, President of Canine Club of Mysore and others.
Breeds like Miniature Pinscher, Belgian Shepherd, Beagle, Great Dane, Dachshund, Pug, Collie, Chow Chow, Irish Setter, Siberian Husky, Boxer and Bulldog competed. The events most popular breed was St. Bernard attracting huge crowds. Also present at the show were Karnataka’s pride, the Mudhol Hound.
Sue Lynn Tong of Singapore an international Dog Show judge was present on the occasion. She will be judging the Best Dog in the show, in the toy dog category.
B.P. Manjunath said that this is the third time that the national level dog show is being held in Mysore and added that about 450 dogs from Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Calicut and other places are participating.
