Udupi, Aug 25: The South Canara Photographers’ Association staged a protest on Saturday August 24 near Clock Tower demanding an unbiased inquiry into the recent rape of the woman photo journalist in Mumbai.

Speaking to media persons, Association president Sunder Poojary said that stringent action should be taken against the culprits.

“The police department should take immediate action to nab the offenders. There is a need for safety measures to be adopted for women and women journalists. Government should seriously look into providing security to women in the backdrop of increasing number of such atrocities,” he added.
