Suvarna Baba was delivering his message during the one-hundred-fifty-eighth birth anniversary of Narayan Guru that was organized by metro based Billawar Association at Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz (East) here on Thursday August 22 morning. The Association president L V Amin presided the programme.
Narayan Guru College and temple – Chembur chairman M.I.Damodaran was the chief guest of the occasion.lThe entrepreneur Vaman D Poojary, ‘Akshaya’ Billawa monthly bulletin honorary editor M B Kukian, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh – Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palettady were the guests of honor.
The renown musician Shekar Sasihitlu, Billawar Association sponsored Seva Dal deputy commandant Sudhakar A Poojary who completed 25 years serving in Seva Dal, Srinivas K Anchan and Hema Srinivas couple, Anand T Poojary and Jayalaxmi Anand couple, Sanjeev B.Poojary and Savita Sanjeev couple were felicitated on the occasion.
Bharat Bank managing director and CEO C.R.Mulky, Dhananjay Shanti, Prabhakar Sasihitlu and Ashok Sasihitlu were honored along with sponsors by the Association president L. V.Amin and Jaya Suvarna.
Speaking on the occasion, M.B.Kukian said that the teachings of Narayan Guru are guiding force to the mankind. Billawar Association has blended the Karnataka and Maharashtra states in the metro. Jaya C Suvarna has strived for educational, economical and cultural sphere in both states, said Kukian.
Damodaran said that Narayan Guru promoted social harmony among people of different faith and economic background. He led the people on spiritual bliss in his lifetime.
Vaman Poojary said that the centenary celebration of Association is nearing and hope the celebrations begin by Jaya Suvarna. The partnership of Vasudev R Kotian for the Bharat Bank’s rapid growth and social welfare activities of Billawar Association are also helpful.
Chandrashekar Palettady said that the teachings of Narayan Guru signify universal brotherhood. He was the crusader of anti-untouchability who had gotten a chance to worship for outcasts in temples, said Palettady. He also expressed concern over educated class who are trying to divide the society because of their selfish motive.
Jaya Suvarna called on the people to live in harmony by following the teachings of Narayan Guru whose ideologies are ever prevalent.
L V Amin said that Billawa community gained out of the leadership of Jaya Suvarna, because he introduced the idea of forming regional Committees of Billawar Association across the metro, in order to foster community bond.
Prabhakar Sasihitlu and group staged twenty-four-hour chanting of shloka from Wednesday August 21 morning, besides the temple celebrant Dhananjay Shanti performed various Vedic celebrations on the occasion.
The Association former Hon president Y.Nagesh, vice presidents C.T.Salian, Chandrashekar S Poojary and Bhaskar M Salian, Treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, women wing president Shakuntala K.Kotian, Seva Dal commandant Ganesh K Poojary were present at the dais.
