Dammam, Aug 22: Eid-ul-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
Eid is a single day festival wherein Muslims end their fast during Ramadan and celebrate on this day. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 to 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. This is a day when Muslims around the world show a common goal of unity.
In Gulf countries the celebration of Eid for the Indian community confines them as the only activities they indulge in are performing Eid prayers, resting and making calls to their families in abroad.
India fraternity forum, eastern province had arranged ‘Eid Milan’, an Eid get together which was held on Saturday August 10 at Anak Isthira hall that gave them a homely experience.
A large number of elders, youngsters, their families and representatives attended the event with much enthusiasm and joy.
The greenery of the Isthira added a new freshness to the minds of the people that were gathered. As a part of the gathering cultural events, sports events, games and entertainment was organized for elders and children.
The children enjoyed and played in the play grounds as a part of the day out of home.
People who come to gulf with only the aim of earning, enjoyed as it was a memorable evening for them. There were different arrangements made for ladies who could also enjoy this occasion.
A delicious lunch was served in the afternoon followed by snacks and drinks that were distributed in the evening.
