Mumbai, Aug 22: BSKB Association, Mumbai, held silver jubilee celebrations of their mouthpiece Gokulavani in Gokula at Sion east on August 15.
The programme was presided over by association president K S Rao and the silver jubilee special issue of the magazine was released by Dr G N Upadhya.
Chief guests, senior poet and dramatist B S Kurkal; famous poetess Dr Sunitha M Shetty; editor of Karnataka Malla daily and president of Kannadiga journalists association, Maharastra, Chandrashekar Palethady were present and wished the magazine well.
Bantaravani editor Ratnakar R. Shetty; Akshaya monthly’s honorary editor M B Kukyan; Mogaveer monthly’s editor Ashok S Suvarna; Patrapushpa editor Balkunje Ramamohan Shetty; Sambanda monthly’s editor Srinivas Jokatte; Amoolya monthly’s editor Netrekere Narayan; Moya newspaper’s Chandrakant Ail; Kannada Sankalana newspaper’s B S Shetty and several office bearers of social organizations were felicitated on the occasion.
K S Rao welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary, B Balachandra Rao gave a key note address. Chandravathi Rao and Prema R Rao introduced the guests and conducted the programme.
Folk dance competition, Kannada film songs, dance by Sahana Bharadhwaj, ‘Pukkate Salahe' drama, and Sirinalike Tulu dances by Tara B Rao and Sahana Poti were presented on the occasion.
The magazine that was published once in three months in 1958 under the name 'Deeksha' when journalist late U S Rao was the editor, is now being published every month by the name 'Gokula Vani'.
