Panaji: 'Srujanotsav' held at Parvatibai Chowgule College

Panaji, Aug 17: “The beauty of each language has to be preserved by the native speakers. The language is directly related with the identity of the person”,  said Datta Damodar Naik, noted Sahitya Academy Award Winner in Konkani while inaugurating Srujanotsav 2013, organized by the department of Konkani, Parvatibai Chowgule College.

 The chief guest inaugurated the week long program in a special way by the  'Kalash Sthapana'. All the co-ordinators of the week long program were presented with a Kalash by the chief guest.

This glittering ceremony was conducted in the auditorium which was largely attended by students. While motivating the budding writers the chief guest gave valuable tips to facilitate the process of creativity. He stressed upon the need to be truthful to one-self and continue writing till one get the flare of writings. He gave various lively examples from his personal life and shared his experience.

In the beginning the welcome song was sung by Gautami Hede and group. This song was composed by third semester students Sandhya Samant and Shreya Bharne which was appreciated by the audience.

Dr Gunaji Desai, Dean, faculty of languages and literature briefed about the entire week long program and introduced the chief guest by doing PowerPoint presentation.

Principal, Dr R V Gaonkar expressed his happiness over the wonderful organization and the participation of the student in the week long activity. He said that Datta Damodar Naik is the alumni of the college and we are proud to have our alumni as the chief guest of the program to guide our students.

Coordinator of the program Rakhi Amonkar proposed the vote of thanks. Siddhi Shet Raikar and Sumita Chodnekar compeered the program. The program was followed by singing competition.
