Mangalore, Aug 13: MLA of Mangalore South constituency J R Lobo on Tuesday August 13 visited Mangalore Fisheries Port and examined the problems and held discussions with the corporator, party leaders and the officials concerned, and directed them to take necessary steps to solve them.
Cleanliness is a major problem faced by the people in this area since long. The drainage water that overflows from roadside gutters and gets collected in small pits and surroundings, in turn gives rise to foul smell and diseases like dengue, malaria, etc.
Several other issues were brought to the notice of the minister by the locals. Lobo directed the officials to solve the problems at the earliest.
A few developmental works that were discussed include concreting or interlocking on either side of Bunder fisheries road, roofing of the auction market yard, implementation of high mask lights at required places, cleaning and maintenance of gutters, waste containers for proper waste management etc.
