Udupi: Women must be encouraged to exercise their rights- Vinay Sorake

Udupi, Aug 13: Dr G Shankar Government Women's College organized a programme for students to bring out their talents at Town hall here on Monday August 12.

The function was inaugurated by Udupi district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, in the presence of Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, Shakuntala  Shetty MLA of Puttur and G Shankar.

Vinay Kumar Sorake said, “Women are powerful and should be provided with a national platform that can be only instigated through education. Women have to be made aware about their rights and be encouraged to fight for the same."

It was also brought to notice that Vinay Kumar Sorake and MLA Pramod Madhwaraj would conduct a meeting with  the IT minister to improvise the science department in college.

He also said, “For the construction of the science lab Rs 20 lac would be provided by the government and they would be supportive in every way possible.”

 “Developing personality, positive thinking and staying united are the most important things that should be focused on by the students”, he added.

MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, “There are around 70% of youth in Udupi who are the decision makers of future, thus we must ensure to lay a strong educational foundation so that the outcome is beneficial.”

He also said Rs 10 lac would be donated for the college hall from the MLA funds.

He concluded by congratulating the students for organizing such a successful function.
