Kundapur, Aug 12: Thieves broke into St Antony's Church, Nada Padukone here on Sunday August 11 night and escaped with items approximately worth Rs 24,000.
The thieves decamped with five microphones which were used in the church for the choir and an amplifier. The microphones were valued at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 and the amplifier was worth around Rs 14,000.
Parish priest of the church Fr Joseph Machado, circle inspector from Kundapur and the SI from Gangolli station arrived at the spot.
The thieves entered the church through the roof after removing tiles.
A dog squad from Udupi was brought in to investigate the theft.
A case has been registered in the Gangolli police station.
