Kundapur, Jan 31: Anand Marakala (42), son of Mutta Marakala of Koravadi near Kumbhashi here died of drowning at Kannur in Kerala on Sunday January 29 morning.
He had gone fishing on a fishing boat, "Vaishali" owned by one Lingu Poojary of Kumbhashi a few days ago. On Sunday morning around 4 he fell in the deep sea after losing balance while casting net. Though his colleagues tried to rescue him, they could not as the raging waves washed him away.
The body has not yet been recovered. However, the Kannur police have confirmed the news about Anand's drowning.
