Udupi, Aug 5: District JD (S) working president Gulam Mohammed has requested the Khazis from the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada to invoke a temporary ban on eating of beef by the Muslims.
In his media release Mohammed has further requested the Muslim brethren to refrain from supporting the cattle lifters. A number of cases of cattle stealing have been reported both in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district in the last few months. Hence it is imperative that no one supports and shelters these cattle lifters. Let the police take action against these offenders, he added further.
Police should immediate raid and shut down all the illegal slaughterhouses that are operating stealthily in the both the coastal districts. These slaughterhouses are the chief reason behind the increased cattle trafficking, he stated.
Such regular incidents have increased the gap between the two major communities of the coastal belt. So it is the duty of all the God fearing Muslims to put a full stop to such incidents and help police to carry out their work without any pressure and fear, he said.
