The police and the fire brigade have been informed about the developments. Officials who arrived at the spot have confirmed the leakage and erected a fencing around it to prevent casualties. The people living nearby have been shifted to safer places.
The officials have assured of all possible measures to stop the leakage. The three containers were spotted on July 23 this year.
Experts, who had arrived from Mumbai in July, had submitted a report to the district administration that the containers were empty. Meanwhile the leakage of gas has made the locals scared and apprehensive.
All the six containers that were found in the seashore here are now under observation. The gas containers spotted on the Kasargod sea shore belonged to the vessel 'MOL Comfort' that had sunk off the Salalah coast, Oman on June 17.
Besides container, fridge, football, coffee powder, cylinder and electronic items were found on the seashore.
