Mangalore, Jul 5: The Agri Business Conference 2013 of the Karnataka Bank was held on July 3 at the Head Office Mangalore.
During the inaugural speech the managing director and CEO P Jayarama Bhat advised the Branch Heads and Agricultural Field Officers to put their best efforts to increase the lending to agriculture sector.
He also requested the participants to extend courteous services to farmer’s community as the agriculture is backbone of Indian economy and called upon the participants to continue the best efforts to lend to Agricultural Sector and maintain the Agricultural Credit level above 18%.
He congratulated the Regional Heads, Branch Heads and Agricultural Field Officers for achieving the Agricultural credit of 18% stipulated by Reserve Bank of India. Bank has proposed to lend around Rs 1300 crore this financial year to maintain the level of Agricultural Advances above 18%. Nine Branches viz. Kolar, Hunsur, Kundapur, Bijapur, Mahalingpur, Shahapur, Bommanhal, Kurnool and Nandyala have been designated as Agricultural Development Branches.
The general managers, P Jairama Hande, N Upendra Prabhu, M S Mahabaleshwar and Dr Meera L B Aranha advised the Regional Heads to increase the agricultural advance and guided the participants.
Detailed review of Agricultural Field Officers and Branch Heads were made during the Conference.
In the beginning V N Manohar, deputy general manager, Retail and Mid-Corporate Finance Division (RMFD) welcomed the participants.
The conference was concluded with the vote of thanks by K Mahalingeshwar, assistant general manager, RMFD.
