Bangalore, Jul 5: It is said that the state unit of BJP is all set to welcome former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, into its folds with open arms. Although MP, Anant Kumar, is said to be the main stumbling block in this process, party leaders are confident of striking a truce between the two by arranging a one-to-one meeting between them.
The state leaders of the BJP have requested the national level leaders not to dither in the matter of admitting Yeddyurappa back into the party once a proposal comes from his side. BJP being a national party, and also as Yeddyurappa had deserted it on his own, the party sources have signalled that the process should be initiated from Yeddyurappa’s side. Sources said that state president of the BJP, Prahlad Joshi, has put forth his view before the in-charge of state party affairs, Tavarchand Gehlot, during his recent visit that fighting Lok Sabha election sans Yeddyurappa will prove disastrous, going by the assembly election result. Joshi also had spoken to national president of the party, Rajnath Singh, on this issue sometime back.
BJP leaders say that they are prepared to move ahead with the process, even if Yeddyurappa sends a trusted emissary to finalize the merger formalities. It is said that BJP has kept the issue of reshuffle and re-organization of its district units pending so as to accommodate Yeddyurappa’s followers once the merger issue is settled.
