Mangalore, Jul 1: Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy-A unit of Laxmi memorial educational trust celebrated its 16th Graduation Day and 20th Annual day on June 29 at Hotel Moti Mahal, Mangalore.
Padmasree PT Usha, Olympian, sports person of the century graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The chief guest for the function was Kavitha BT, assistant commissioner of Police (ACP), Mangalore.
AJ Shetty, President, LMET presided over the function along with Prashanth Shetty vice president LMET and the members of the trust including Dr Abilash PV, the PRO of LMET and senate member of the Rajiv Gandhi University Of health Sciences, Bangalore with staffs from other college, students, graduates and parents.
The program started with a graduation parade, prayer and lamp lighting ceremony by the guests. Dr Hima lecturer of LMCP welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests and other delegates, followed by annual report for the academic year 2011-12 delivered by Dr S Arul Dhanaraj, principal-Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy. Followed by graduation of graduates of Bachelor and Masters of Physiotherapy.
The chief guest and the guest of honor released the college magazine “Saggezza-2013” and gave an enlightening speech.
The outstanding students in Academics, Sports and Cultural events was applauded with certificates, trophies and cash prizes. AJ Shetty delivered the presidential address and he congratulated the award winners and appreciated the service of the students for the quality of physiotherapy treatment given in AJ Hospital and research center.
Dr Hari Priya assistant professor, LMCP delivered the vote of thanks to the guests and delegates, followed by cultural performances by the students.
