Mangalore, Jun 27: “Police and COD department have failed to probe the fatal twin murder case of Panjimogeru. It will be two years on June 28 since the incident occurred. Hence, this case must now be transferred to the CBI”, demanded DYFI district president Munir Katipalla while addressing the press meet here on Thursday June 27.
He also said, “police have tortured several innocent people relating to this case. Meanwhile, DYFI protested on this issue. Due the intensity of protest, government came forward to hand over the case to COD. But the COD have also failed to investigate the case and arrest the culprits; hence this case should be transferred to the CBI."
“The DYFI has submitted the memorandum to the district in-charge B Ramanath Rai, demanding to transfer the case to CBI. If the state government fails to hand over the case to CBI, then the DYFI along with regional organization will hold intense protest," he said.
While speaking on the issue of thegruesome sexual assault of the medical student in Manipal, Munir said “ Kerala superior commission of CPI (M) party will visit Manipal to meet the victim and her family tomorrow."
On this occasion, MCC member Dayanda Shetty, Panjimogeru division DYFI president Ahammed Bashir, vice president Navin D’ Souza, Soumya from DYFI women wing, were present.
