Addressing the protest held at the DC office on Tuesday June 25, T K Rajan, president, Kerala Samajam, Mangalore, said, “The state government should take immediate action on this issue; police should seriously probe this matter and arrest the culprits. This incident has created panic among the students from neighbouring states. Hence, the criminals should be arrested and produced in front of the law.”

Maxim Sebastian, Murooli, P D Sebastian, vice principal, SDM Law College, Balagopal, and M B Raja were present on the occasion.

A memorandum demanding arrest of the culprits and stringent action against them was submitted to the chief minister through the DC.

People can only protest and nothing seem to happen leading to the capture of the criminal.Police had become inefficient and are not receiving proper training to conduct investigation, gather evidence from the scene of crime, interpret clues to trace the culprit and finally to write FIR properly. They get irritated whenever someone comes to them with a complaint of rape, theft, assault, etc and they threaten or discourage them from reporting. No case is registered unless pressure is brought on them and often due to rampant corruption, they try to tilt the case in favour of the criminal, ignoring the pleas of the victim. even when caught like in the Delhi case, the case will be dragged on and on leading to the frustration of all.Unless the criminal himself give away, the case remain unsolved and closed after sometime Knowing these weaknes and using the loopholes in the law, many men indulge actively in raping helpless victim and go scotfree.

Dear protesters, the rapist may be in Kollam or Kayamkulam. Help our police to trace him.
