Mangalore, Jun 26: Condemning the gruesome gang-rape of a medical student in Manipal, the Kerala Samajam organized a silent protest rally from K S Rao Road to DC office urging the arrest of the culprits.
Addressing the protest held at the DC office on Tuesday June 25, T K Rajan, president, Kerala Samajam, Mangalore, said, “The state government should take immediate action on this issue; police should seriously probe this matter and arrest the culprits. This incident has created panic among the students from neighbouring states. Hence, the criminals should be arrested and produced in front of the law.”
Maxim Sebastian, Murooli, P D Sebastian, vice principal, SDM Law College, Balagopal, and M B Raja were present on the occasion.
A memorandum demanding arrest of the culprits and stringent action against them was submitted to the chief minister through the DC.
The girl, a student of Manipal University who was allegedly gang-raped by three men, hails from Kerala.
