Bangalore: Orientation programme held at St Joseph’s College

Media Release

Bangalore, Jun 25: St Joseph’s Arts and Science College, Bangalore witnessed one of the rare moments of fun and learning with a difference as part of their orientation program at the beginning of the year June 17.

Team IGNITORS, who took them through this event, got the students to think, reflect and plan ahead of their academic year. St Joseph’s Campus looked on fire as the students were on their toes enjoying every moment. IGNITORS came out with much deserved appreciation from all the quarters.

“A few years ago, when we did our schooling, the whole focus was on study….study…and study. I believe, till recent times, the educational system that we practiced, was stressing more and more on memory and a head level approach”, says the spokesperson

In this system, students in general were passive and too much focus was on the functioning of the left brain. Of late there is a paradigm shift taking place in every sphere of life, including education. In the new paradigm, the focus is more and more on analysis, judgment and imagination.

“The focus on 3H’s – Head, Heart, Hands- has given an opportunity to the students to participate actively in the learning process, thus internalizing the knowledge that’s being learnt. I believe this process needs a solid and a strong initiation, which in a long run would help our kids as the competent visionaries of tomorrow,” he said.

“The world, our kids are going to live in,  is changing four times faster than schools” , the words of Dr. Willard Daggett – Director of International Center for Leadership and Education, give us the idea of the change, we are in and the need  to adopt.

In this regard, IGNITORS, have been doing a marvelous job initiating and orienting the students and staff and leading them towards the integral formation and holistic growth.

IGNITORS are team of qualified staff, on various topics, moving around into various renowned institutions in Bangalore and Mangalore, so far, giving orientation programs. Ignitors have been doing this wonderful job for the last three years... Itz a great way to make students think that education is not the development of the mind, but the all round development of oneself. Mind, body and soul :)
