Dubai, Jan 11: 'Daiji' Anniversary will be rescheduled Due to the sad demise of HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Dubai, the 'Daiji Anniversary' celebration which was previously announced for 20 Janunary 2006 at the Indian Consulate, Dubai, has now been temporarily postponed.
While a fresh date will be announced very soon, it is expected that 'Anniversary will be held either held towards end February or immediately after the Easter The 'Daiji Anniversary' is consisted of awarding 'Daiji Puroskar 2006' to well known Konkani Novelist Victor Rodrigues, the cultural extravaganza 'Mandd sobhan' and other stage performances. Kalaa Ratn Eric Ozario alongwith his entire family will lead the entertainment troupe. Annada Prasanna Patnaik, the famous flutist; Manoj George, the celebrated violinist; Ronnie D'Cunha, the much acclaimed singer; are expected to join the 'Mandd Sobhan' troupe from different destinations such as Mumbai, Bangalore and Kuwait.
A short konkani skit 'Lekh Molyar Lekh'ch' written by Mickmax and directed by Hemacharya will also be staged during the event. Noted Konkani Poet Melvyn Rodrigues' much talked about konkani musical CD, and konkani books will be released for the recreation of Gulf music lovers and readers.
Except for the date of the programme, everything remains the same. In fact, efforts are on to add a few more festivities to the celebration.
