Mangalore, Jun 15: Rama Venkat Nayak, Popularly known as Kannada Pandith, who served 27 years as a Kannada Teacher in Little Flower High School, Kinnigoli, retired from the service.
A farewell function was held on behalf of school management., Parent Teacher Association, Old students Association in School auditorium. Sr Wilberta, Mother Genral of Bethany Convent, Mangalore presided over the function.
Fr Alfred Pinto, parish priest of Kinnigoli Church blessed the occassion. Sr Mariette B S provincial and corporate mangaer, of Bethany Mangalore region is the chief guest of the fucntion. Sr Vithalis BS., superior of Marywale convent, Kinnigoli , Manjula Shetty, lecturer, government college Mangalore were the guests for the fucntion.
Professor M Balakrishna Shetty, principal of SDPT college, Kateel in his felicitation speech described Rama Venkat Nayak as a teacher, great scholar, good human being who is known for his simplicity, who served in the institution with dedication service of 27 years. On the occassion Rama venkata nayak has been felicitated. Thanking all who helped him in his 27 years of service, Mr.Rama Venkatanayak expressed his view that a teacher should be a role model not only to the students but for the society also. People are closely watching the behaviour of a teacher and they are following theri path.
While thanking Rama Venkata Nayak for his 27 years of sevice to the school and Bethany institution,Sr Wilberta in his presidential speech told that good, moral education given by the teachers to the students at the early age not only help them to built their carrer and personality, but also help to built a healtheir society and nation. Teachers knowing their social responsibilty should help the students to become the better civilian of the country through their education.
Sr Lira Maria, Headmistress of the school welcomed the guest and gatheing. Physical education teacher Hilary Mascarenhas compered the programme. Bhuvanibhirama Udupa, vice president of farewell committee proposed vote of thanks.
