Mangalore, Jun 13: Konkani community language and traditions popularly known as KCLT on facebook group, which has more than 56,000 members arranged a service activity here, on June 12 at St Holy Angles Higher Primary School Thokkuttu in collaboration with Re- Chal Society, a NGO from Mangalore.

A kit containing note books for year, school bag, umbrella, geometry box and other stationery materials each worth around Rs 1000 was distributed to 40 students of the school. This is the 6th activity by KCLT, apart from this KCLT helped around Rs 1 lac as medical aid to a cancer patient.

KCLT is headed by Rakesh Pinto from Abu Dhabi – Mangalore and the admin panel has 16 active members.

 The programme started with prayer led by the students of the school. Nirma D’Souza (KCLT Admin) coordinator Re-Chal Society welcomed the guests. Dr Ramesh Kamath, from Bangalore, president of function, along with other dignitaries Fr J B Saldanha ,correspondent of Holy Angles School and parish Priest of St Sebastain Church , Permannur, Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo ,Director of Sandesha Foundation, were present on the stage.

Rakesh Pinto, Juliana Pinto, Sr Severine Fernandes, Headmistress of Holy Angles School inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Rakesh Pinto, the founder of KCLT promised to give scholarship to four poor students every year. Fr J B Saldanha in his address asked the students to become great leaders and dedicated future generation. Fr Victor Vijay Lobo inspired the students by a story to come out of low self esteem. He asked the students to have positive approach towards life. Juliana Pinto, a retired teacher and Taluk panchayat member, Vittal, asked the students give more importance for study and become educated person in the society and Dr Ramesh Kamath in his presidential address spoke about present system of education and emphasized the need of contributing to the society .

Niroop James, Pushpaltha, Cyril D’Souza, Franklin D’Souza were on the dais.

Sr Severine Fernades, headmistress of Holy Angles School voiced the vote of thanks.

Later Dr Ramesh Kamath conducted a Four “S” workshop for students. More than 600 students took benefit of the workshop.
