Media Release

Goa, Jun 12: Shantaram Naik MP said that Goa government should have a policy to bring in self-sufficiency in vegetable, fruits and milk production in the State as the present state government cannot be relied upon in the matter of interstate transport matters.

Naik under  whose hands mechanized tillers under Tribal Sub-Plan  were handed over to the agriculturists  at Maina, Curtorim further said that agriculture in general has not become a lucrative activity and its production has remained stagnant.

Scientists have to help the agriculturists to use improved seeds and techniques for multiplying the production.

He condemned the attitude of BJP MLAs of not disclosing the Central scheme to the local farmers and falsely claim that the tillers were given by local government.

Reginaldo Lourenco said that he was happy that director of ICAR, Old Goa has come forward to help the tribals of his constituency to allot  them 3 power tillers.

Lourenco further said that director of ICAR will give guidance to the Farmers to increase their paddy  production by using high yielding variety  of seeds.

The director of  KP Singh explained in detail as to how the farmers can increase the agriculture produce by choosing the correct variety of seeds.
