Mangalore, Jun 10: The inaugural ceremony of the Senior Secondary Section of Mount Carmel Central School – CBSE Class XI was held on June 10 in the school hall.
Fr Andrew D’Souza, parish priest of St Lawrence Church, Bondel, Kavitha Sanil, local corporator, Sr Ida Barboza A C, the joint secretary of MCCS, Sr Carissima A C, administrator of MCCS and principal Sr Melissa A C shared the dais. Sisters, parents and students were present on the occasion.
The students of the school led a short prayer service invoking God’s blessings on this new venture of the school and on all gathered.
Fr Andrew D’Souza inaugurated the Senior Secondary Section by opening the areca inflorescence ie Pingara, the blooming and flowering of the tender areca nut bunch symbolising prosperity and the growth of the institution.
It was also an occasion to celebrate the joy of the growth of Mount Carmel Family. This was followed by the address by Fr Andrew D’Souza, corporator Kavitha Sanil and joint secretary Sr Ida Barboza, where all the three commended the good work carried out by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel in the field of education, particularly focusing on Mount Carmel Central School and wished the school and the students of first batch of Class XI the very best in their educational endeavors.
Principal Sr Melissa A C, welcomed the gathering, Rajeshwari proposed the vote of thanks, while Sheryl D’Silva compered the programme.
This was followed by a short orientation programme to parents and students of Class XI by Sr Violet, coordinator of Senior Secondary Section of Lourdes Central School, Bejai.
