Mangalore, Jun 8: “People should get water to drink, hence provide immediate electricity connections to borewells in Boliar, Palla, and Thokottu,” said U T Khadar, minister for family welfare and health at the ZP meeting hall on here on Friday June 7.
He was addressing a preliminary review meeting of PWD officers, ZP engineers, and various department officers of taluk and ZP panchayat.
“Currently, we provide temporary electricity connection for borewells to enable people to drink water. Meanwhile, you can continue your procedure and this should be implemented within ten days. Bills of all contractors should be cleared so they can continue the work,” he said.
“Due to monsoon there will be problems of potholes in Arekala, Kaddavu, Deralakatte, and Kotekar; so before people are affected, these should be filled. The road from Thokottu to Mudipu should be widened by 7 meters. Full-fledged bus bays in Chembugudde and Babbukatte near Unity Hospital should be constructed. The road from Ullal over bridge to Abbaka Circle should be widened,” he demanded.
Khadar also urged completion of project water tank in Meeramajal and Abhanagundi. He said that within three days all this work should be estimated and work should begin within a week.
ZP member Mamatha Gatti said, ‘The officers from past two and a half years are negligent about the farmers in Sajipa. Though there is money, it was not given to farmers.” Responding to this, the PWD officer said that commissioner and assistant commissioner of revenue are not sanctioning the funds.
ZP member Kareem and ZP CPO Mohammed Nazir were present on this occasion.
