Udupi, Jun 6: A special guest was the cynosure of all eyes at Kathodu village, Kodachadri here on Thursday June 6.
A King Cobra grabbed the attention of the villagers, who, despite heavy rains stood glued with their eyes keenly watching the serpent's every minute movement.
The Cobra slithered on the branches of a tree in search of food. The people waited patiently for sometime for the snake to come down, but soon ran out of patience as it moved further above and seemed least interested in entertaining the people's wish.
Meanwhile, expert snake catcher Gururaj Sanil arrived, and with persistent efforts, was successful in catching the Cobra. The villagers watched in awe as Sanil deftly brought the serpent under his control.
The snake was 15 feet in length, weighing 12 kg. It was later set free into Kollur Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary.
