Udupi: Speeding bus claims one more life - Man from Kerala killed on spot

Udupi, Jun 3: In yet another fatal accident involving a bus, a native of Kerala was killed on the spot when a city bus rammed into him near Manipal here on Monday June 3 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Thomas (62) from Kanhangad, Kerala.
Thomas and his cousin Prashanth were returning by bike to Kerala from Teerthahalli, where they had been on business. On the way, they stopped at a hotel for refreshment.
After having tea, Thomas came out and stood near his bike, while Prashanth stayed inside to pay the bill.
At that moment, a speeding bus came down the road and hit the bike as well as Thomas, killing him on the spot.
The bus, belonging to Ganesh Travels, was plying from Manipal to Udupi. The driver was taken into custody.
Manipal police have registered a case.
