New Delhi, Jan 4: Seven skulls were recovered as digging of the Lunavada mass grave in Gujarat, where victims of post-Godhra communal riots were buried, began on Wednesday under the supervision of an 18-member CBI and forensic experts in compliance with the Gujarat High Court order.
The CBI was directed by the High Court on December 29 to collect skeleton samples from the mass grave in Panchmahal district and ordered it to be sent to the forensic laboratory in Hyderabad for DNA testing.
CBI sources said seven skulls had been recovered thus far and the digging was expected to continue till late into the night or early on Thursday.
