M'lore: Lifeguards save Bangalore youth from drowning

Mangalore, May 31: A youth was saved from drowning by the lifeguards of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project on Friday May 31.

The rescued has been identified as Rakesh (19), a resident of Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

On Friday at around 11 am Rakesh went to the beach along with his friend Hemanth. It is learnt that as they stepped into the water, Rakesh was swept away by a huge wave. The lifeguards who were nearby rushed to his rescue and saved him from drowning.

Rakesh is the 76th tourist to be rescued by the lifeguards of the project since 2008. He is a first PUC student at KLE College, Vijayanagar.
