Udupi, May 29: Indian National Congress, Udupi block, organized a felicitation programme for Pramod Madhwaraj, for winning the Lok Sabha election, at Sheshashayana Hall on Tuesday May 28.
Addressing the gathering, MP Jayaprakash Hegde said that public opinion is important to our government. “Now that the people have chosen us as MLA, CMC, and even taluk panchayat members it is the right time to show the power of Congress. Effective work will be done only if the right person does the right job. This is the right time for that. The public have believed in us at all levels from the taluk till the CM level. We have to keep that belief and do good for them which will create a rapport between the public and public representatives. This relation is not temporary but should last for long,” he said.
“My responsibility is less towards the state and more towards the center. Now, I should get maximum grant for the state and the district,” he added.
“The public needed a change and we will give them the best. We look into the issue through the people’s domain. We are also the common man and the people made us leaders so they can ask or expect any service from us. We assured complete support in the administration to Pramod. Health aid should be promoted because health is the real wealth. Farming, fisheries, and special schemes for the SC/ST should also be availed soon,” said Hegde.
Madhwaraj thanked the voters and said that completing ‘Vision Document’ will be the main aim of the government. “We got rain this year at the right time which proves that God is with us.”
He added, “I am happy that on my right hand side is Oscar Fernandes and on the left will be Sorakke and Jayaprakash Hegde and these three will make me successful in my political career.”
