Bhatkal, May 28: Two persons were seriously injured when the truck taxi carrying them swerved off the road near Bastimakki, Murdeshwar, on Monday May 27. The condition of the injured persons is critical. They have been shifted to Manipal after first aid treatment at Bhatkal Government Hospital.
The injured have been indentified as Sham Sundar (30) and Rajesh (25), hailing from Beltangady in Dakshina Kannada. They were on their way to Bailhongal, Belgaum district.
PSI Manjappa visited the spot and a case has been registered at Murudeshwar police station.
Accident at Manki:
Five persons were injured, two of them seriously, when the car in which they were travelling was hit a KSRTC bus plying to Subramanya.
The accident occurred in the morning on Monday May 27 near Nanthwadi, Manki, on National Highway 66, 35 km from Bhatkal.
The car was overtaking another vehicle when it collided with the KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction.
The injured are driver Tanaji Shivaji Gardadi (47), Sushil Suresh Kumbara (26), Guru Prasad (31), Raghavendra Shetty (31) and his wife, Sujatha Shetty (24). Sujatha Shetty and Gardadi suffered head injuries while the others escaped with minor injuries. All the injured were taken to Manipal Hospital.
Manki PSI Nityanand Pandit and ASI B B Harikanth visited the spot. A case has been registered at Manki police station.
