Mangalore: Journalist Mohammed Arif chosen for Pa Go Award

Mangalore, May 27: Mohammed Arif Padubidri, chief reporter with Vijaya Karnataka daily has been chosen for the Pa Go Award for the year 2012, instituted by Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union (DKWJU).
He has been selected for his story of 'Yashodha' about a rural napkin unit, published on June 12, 2012 edition of the newspaper.
The award will be presented on Saturday June 1 at 10:45 am in the Press Club. Veteran reporter Chidambara Baikampady will give away the award.
The award will comprise a cash prize of Rs 5001, a momento and a citation. The cash prize has been sponsored by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, said Srinivas Nayak, sectretary of DKWJU, in a press release.
Arif, basically from Padubidri, has done MA and diploma in journalism. He has been in the field for nearly 17 years. He has also served as the Udupi city reporter for 'Kannada Janatharanga' for nearly 4 years.
Having held different posts in Vijaya Karnataka since the year 2000, he is now serving as the chief reporter. He also bagged the Bannanje Sri Ramacharya Journalism Award in 2012 and Talent Milad Award as well.
