Beltangady, May 27: Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala is all set to expand its rural development programmes to other districts of Karnataka.
Dharmasthala Rural Development Society which has been immensely serving the rural villages since three decades, has reached another waypost by branching off its wings in the districts of Bagalkote, Bellary, Raichur of North Karnataka and Mandya, Hassan and Bangalore rural areas.
The project in the extended rural villages will be engrossed in the strengthening of farmers, weaker sections of the society including women, boosting self-employment, savings and economical development. It will also call attention to the importance of better standard of life. About 1500 workers have been deployed to properly implement the programme.
For the purpose of carrying out the programme, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerenda Heggade revealed as many as 20 new Sumo Gold vehicles in front of the temple, stated in the press release issued by administrative director Dr LH Manjunath.
Besides the project plans for setting up about 1,30,000 new self help groups, it also plans to concentrate on the development of drought affected villages in North Karnataka.
