M'lore: Chinna, Blind Mobility Centre, chosen for ‘Vandana’ award

Mangalore, May 15: Kasargod Chinna, and the city-based The Blind Mobility Training Centre have been chosen for the state level ‘Vandana’ awards. The award is being given to those who excel in the fields of art, culture, science, sports, music and social service. ‘Vandana’ is a state level award being conferred under the joint aegis of Rotary Mangalore Central and Rotaract Mangalore.

Kasargod Chinna has been selected for his achievements in the fields of art, culture, and literature. The Blind Mobility Training Centre has been chosen for the award, in recognition of its services in the fields of development and encouragement extended by the centre to the blind people. On behalf of the centre, its secretary, Sooryaprakash Bhat, will be receiving the award.

The awards function will be held at 8 pm on May 17 at Rotary Bal Bhavan. Dr Mohan Alva of Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, will preside over the function, a press release said.
