Mangalore: Congress celebrates Siddu's elevation as chief minister

Mangalore, May 10: The Congress camp in the city erupted in jubilation near the district Congress office here on Friday May 10, in celebration of Siddaramaiah being chosen as the new chief minister.
The Congress block under the leadership of former mayor Ashraf celebrated the new CM of Karnataka as well as Bantwal MLA Ramanath Rai's possible elevation as minister.
Addressing reporters, Ashraf said, "The people of Karnataka have taken the right decision and routed out the BJP which had given poor administration. Even in the forthcoming parliamentary elections people should support the Congress."
Kallige Tharanath Shetty said, "The Congress government will never allow moral policing and other social evils. The party will strive to establish a peaceful, harmonious society. Congress will give more importance to the development of infrastructure."
On this occasion Kodijal Ibrahim, Praveenchandra Alva, Naveen D'Souza, Shashidar Hegde and others were present.
