Kasargod, Apr 20: Ramakrishna Bhat (39), a teacher by profession, lost his life after the hook he was using to pluck breadfruits from a tree located in the plantation by the side of the house suddenly swung down and sliced his throat. The incident occurred on Friday April 19 evening.
Bhat was residing near Bhagavati Daivasthana in Madhur-Patla Nadu village. He was working as teacher at the higher secondary school of Mogralputtur.
After the hook meant to pluck breadfruits swung towards him and sliced his throat, a profusely bleeding Bhat was rushed to the general hospital here by family members and neighbours. But it is gathered that the doctors there said Bhat had breathed his last before reaching the hospital.
Ramakrishna Bhat is survived by wife and two daughters.
