Delhi Police ACP suspended for slapping girl

New Delhi, Apr 19 (IANS): An assistant commissioner (ACP) of Delhi Police was Friday suspended for slapping a 17-year-old girl protester, who was trying to meet the five-year-old rape victim at a hospital here.

ACP Bani Singh Ahlawat, posted at Khajuri Khas area of east Delhi, was suspended with immediate effect for slapping and pushing Beenu Rawat, a class 12 student, said a senior police officer.

Rawat, a resident of east Delhi's Shahdara, was trying to enter the emergency ward of the Swami Dayanand hospital when she was assaulted by the ACP.

    how could u say lyk dis man...if dis is da behavior of acp in public wat can v expect if a girl is going to his office fr any complaints...he should be dismissed from service...

    The way this girl was verbally abusing ACP , and trying to physically provoke him , I feel she deserved slaps. ( see the video clearly ). Infact she should be booked for threatening on duty officer .

    The courage of this girl and her friend who tried to see ACP's name plate is commendable - as seen on TV.
