Mangalore, Apr 18: The Old Students Association of Holy Family Higher Primary School Derebail, here, gathered after 20 years recently at Holy Family School Derebail to felicitate old student Rajesh K who was elected in the local Mangalore Corporation.
Around 100 old students gathered during the meeting.
Fr Peter D’ Souza, correspondent, felicitated the new cooperator with flower garland and shawl and wished him success. He recalled his school days at Bela where he was the only Catholic in the class, but still he used to love to go to school and today the school management and teachers are happy to see him ordained as a Priest.
Rajesh K in his speech mentioned that his Derebail School helped him to reach this stage. He thanked all the teachers and specially head teacher Sr Christine for calling the meeting and honouring him. Further he said that the association should have been back bone to the students studying in the current year. The association should locate some of the poor students and help them to come up and live happily, he said.
Later Bhuvaneshwari Hedge gave a humorous talk – Nakku Haguragiralu.
At the end the following members were elected for the governing committee: Head Teacher Sr Christine (president), Rajesh K – corporator (vice-president), Victor Corrrea (general secretary), Mary Vas (joint secretary), Edward Coelho (treasurer), Satheesh K (assistant treasurer), Lokesh N B (sports secretary), Gopal Krishna Bhat (organizing coordinator), Sharmila and Geetha (cultural secretary), Yadhav Shettigar and Edward Sequeira (publicity secretary)
Honorary advisors: Venkatramana Shettighar, Veronica Clary Coelho, Janaki Nellitaya, Vincent Rebello, Valarian Mascarenhas, Venkappa Shettighar, Veena Pais.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks given by HM Sr Christine.

Next year the school will celebrate of platinum jubilee year. All old students of Derebail Holy Famiy School are requested to join hands to develop the school and support for 75 years celebration.
