Mangalore Apr 16: Advocate SP Chengappa, the JD(S) candidate from Mangalore South Legislative Constituency filed his nomination here on Tuesday April 16.
SP Chengappa, flanked by supporters, party workers and well wishers arrived in a procession from PVS circle to MCC and submitted his nomination to the election commissioner.
After filing the nomination S P Chengappa speaking to the media said "JD(S) will gain majority of seats during the election, especially in the coastal area. In the coastal area JD(S) will put its candidates from all constituencies. People are fed up with the BJP government and its corruption and scandals. Even the congress party has failed in providing a proper administration.
He further alleged that, "the extent of corruption by the congress party has resulted in the loss of crores of rupees; increased the price of rice to Rs 60; petrol, diesel prices have also been hiked regularly; prices of basic food grains, cereals have also increased. The common man cannot live with this type of expenditure. Hence, people are expecting a drastic change, which is why they will vote for JD(S). JD(S) is a party of pro-people and we will being about a change."
Under the guidance of HD Devegowda, leadership of Kumarswamy "I am contesting for the elections. People of the South legislative constituency have faced many problems due to BJP’s rule. JD(S) will be present an eco-friendly rule to the people; scarcity of drinking water will be solved and good governance will be given to people."
"JD(S) does not have a difference of opinion, we are all united. Some people create this confusion to spoil the name of party," he said
On this occasion Susheel Noronha, Vasanth Poojary, Ram Ganesh, Ram Krishna Shetty, Munir, Gopal Krishna Attavar, Aziz Kudroli, Akbar Ullal were present.
