Mangalore: Passenger traffic at Airport crosses one million

Mangalore, Apr 11: The Mangalore International Airport has crossed yet another milestone by recording a passenger traffic of over one million.
As per the reports tallied for the last financial year ending March 31, 2013, the number of total passengers who travelled through Mangalore International Airport stood at 10.32 lac.
This is a major development and a great achievement for the Airport, which got the international tag last year.
Nearly 8.78 lac people travelled in the last financial year, resulting in a total increase of 17.06 percent in the year 2012-13.
A total of 2,67,984 passengers (1,21,427 arrivals and 1,46,521 departures) on the international flights (increase of 7.12 percent) and 7,64,653 passengers (3,84,753 arrivals and 3,79,900 departures) in the domestic flights (increase of 21.8 percent) has been reported.
“In the current financial year, an increase of 10 percent is expected,” said J T Radhakrishna, director, Mangalore International Airport.
