Mangalore: 12th annual Sri Ramotsava to be held from Apr 19 to 21

Mangalore, Apr 8: “Sri Ramotsava Samiti, along with Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Matru Mandali, and Durgavahini will celebrate Sri Ramotsava at Nehru Maidan here from April 19 to 21,” informed Pushparaj Jain, president of Ramotsava committee.
Addressing a press meet at Sharada College Auditorium here on Monday April 8, he said that preparations are going on in full swing for the 12th year of Ramotsava.
"A beautiful replica of Ram Mandir will be built in the Maidan by well-known artistes' group Suvarna Arts Mulky, the Bhoomi Puja for which was held on Monday April 8," he informed.
A 25-feet tall Ravana statue will be installed on April 18.
"Various religious and cultural programmes will be held on all three days. Bhajans and other stage programmes will be conducted by various well-known teams. Swamiji, religious and social leaders will take part in the stage programme that will be held prior to the cultural events," he said.
The programme will conclude with the burning of Ravana statue on April 21 at 8 pm.
Leaders Shivanand Mendon, Jitendra Kottari, Manohar Thulaja Ram, Krishnamurthy, Jagadish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
