Udupi: Lorry belonging to Pramod Madhwaraj seized for violating poll code

Udupi, Mar 26: A lorry belonging to block Congress president Pramod Madhwaraj that was supplying water was seized at Brahmavar here on Tuesday March 26.

The vehicle was allegedly being used as a promotion for upcoming elections.

As soon as the state Assembly election date was declared, the code of conduct for the elections was implemented strictly in the district. Local BJP workers sent a complaint to the election commission, after which the officials seized the vehicle.

Madhwaraj himself was not sure if his banner on the vehicle was removed or not at the time of confiscation, but other Congress members claimed that there was no banner.

The vehicle was sent to the tahsildar's office for further investigation.

    mr. Nathan don't use mr. bhat's name without knowing... plz read the disclaimer and post ur comment.. its election commissoner had seized it and its against law because mr. madhwaraj is contesting this election..he is a good man and serves people n let him do it after may 6th....

    how come poor people survive without water... who will provide them drinking water now ! can govt provide? or any organization will take care?
    Mr.Madhwaraj was regularly doing this charity work around udupi for last couple of years. not doing his work becoz of election.

    Dear Daiji:

    First catch the corrupt politicians. Mr. Madhwaraj is a clean person and he will offer helps to any needy persons. Shame on BJP complaining about supplying water free to the poor and needy. It is not because of election code he does. He will do this type of charity to any body who needs helps irrespective of party, caste etc. or creeds, any time. Mr. Madhwaraj is a unique person with extra ordinary quality. He will never commit illegal activities but abide by the law of the country. BJP if you try to spoil his name it will have no effect. People have learnt who is Mr. Madhwaraj in the twin districts of Udupi and Mangalore. Even though he is accused by BJP he will not hate BJP. Only one person so special and so kind and clean hands who pay the government his taxes as the second highest person after the Syndicate bank. I know him as a boy and have very high respect for him. I wish him a great success in the election and wish to see him as the cleanest Chief Minister of Karnataka in its history.

    Mr.Madhwaraj was regularly doing this charity work earlier also.Moreover the distribution of drinking water a humanirtarian work and I do not think that poll code will come in the way of fulfilling basic priorities of people.If somebody needs urgent medical help and that does not mean Madhwaraj should not extend the help to the person because of pole code.
