Why condemn only some killings, asks Omar

Jammu, Mar 20 (IANS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday took a dig at those who are "selective" in condemning killings in Jammu and Kashmir.

Making a suo motto statement in the assembly, Abdullah wondered there was silence over the killing of 18-year-old Suhail Ahmad Sofi by militants inside a mosque in Sopore Tuesday night.

He said there were double standards in the political condemnation.

"Today , I don't see anyone condemning this killing nor do I see the outrage witnessed when someone gets killed in firing by security forces," he said.

Earlier, Abdullah said on twitter site: "Militants chase an 18-year-old boy into a mosque and shoot him. Imagine the outrage if this had been done by security forces... hypocrisy."

No group has owned responsibility for the murder.
