Udupi: Muscle power in full flow at body building contest

Udupi, Mar 17: The 61st national body-building competition by Manjunath Hegde Sports Foundation Institute in memory of late T R Chandrashekar Hegde was held at Shamili hall on Saturday March 16.
The contest was inaugurated by Sri Sugunendratirtha Swamiji of Puttige Math.
Prominent cinema director Rajendra Singh Babu, Udupi S P Dr Borlingayya, India Fitness and Body Builders foundation president T R Manjunath Hegde, Surya Hegde, chief secretary PSB Naidu among others were present.
As many 250 participants took part in various categories like Bharath Kishore (junior), Bharath Kesari (masters), Bharath Uday (novice), Bharath Kumar (youth) and Bharath Shree (seniors).
The winners will represent India at the Asia-Pacific Championship to be held on May 2, and the NAC World Championship, North Cyprus on May 31.
Manjunath G from Karnataka bagged Bharath Uday, Ankush Shivram Tervankore from Maharashtra won Bharath Kesari and G Balakrishna from Karnataka bagged Bharath Kishore title. In senior category, the winner were Milind Vasanth, Prakash Gawane (Maharastra), N B Chattri (Madhya Pradesh), Inacio Sanjan (Maharashtra), and Kammu Singh (Madhya Pradesh).
