Mangalore, Mar 16: Michael Sequeira at the young age of thirty has achieved a lot. He has won the Presidents gold medal for the best employee with low vision for the year 2012.
The award was presented by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee recently at New Delhi.
Mike, as he is popularly known has made all Catholics proud. Despite his low vision Michael has done it all. He studied at St Josephs European High School where he is listed among the famous old students.
Having completed his engineering from RNSIT; Michael worked in Infosys for a couple of years. Michael then pursued MBA at the prestigious IIM Bangalore and joined Wipro. He worked as a government consultant initially when he authored Wipro's first research paper on Aadhaar which was published in the Economic Times in December 2011. Presently Michael works as senior strategic account manager at Wipro Infotech.
His 'never say die' attitude, untiring efforts and perseverance coupled with immense self belief and confidence has helped him fight every obstacle and win the race. Michael dedicates this award to his parents Norbert and Glenys Sequeira, who have been his inspiration and pillars of strength.
Mike is a gifted poet; in about 1000 poems he has written about love, life and courage. He is involved in several social initiatives at Wipro and is keen to give back to the society much more than he has received. Today Michael feels empowered to help the disabled find their place in society and achieve their dreams. Michael Sequeira is indeed an inspiration for the catholic youth today.
